FOR REAL is een theatrale radioshow met live geïmproviseerde muziek, over wat het betekent om ertoe te doen. Als publiek ben je te gast in de radiostudio.

Het startpunt is de intellectuele ondermijning van vrouwen: het gebrek aan interesse in wat ze denken, zeggen, maken of proberen te bereiken.

De voorstelling is Engels gesproken en zowel Nederlands als Engels ondertiteld.

Over de luidsprekers klinken de stemmen van twintig vrouwen. Zij analyseren de intellectuele ondermijning vanuit hun eigen ervaringen met het seksisme op de geest en de ziel: professioneel en persoonlijk. Hoe beïnvloedt dit je eigenwaarde, vertrouwen, relaties en uiteindelijk: de loop van het leven zelf?

Het publiek maakt het onderzoek compleet wanneer de musici hen beginnen te interviewen over deze onderwerpen. De gesprekken worden gedragen door een nieuwe improvisatietechniek, waarin de musici deze risicovolle en eerlijke uitwisselingen ondersteunen met hun instrumenten.

Elke uitvoering van FOR REAL wordt opgenomen* en gepubliceerd als podcast-aflevering. Door dit te doen, creëren we een verzameling van stemmen en ideeën over wat het betekent om ertoe te doen: om waardigheid te hebben, je begrepen te voelen en serieus genomen te worden.

FOR REAL is a theatrical radio-show with live improvised music on what it means to matter. As an audience-member, you are a guest in our radio-studio.

The starting point is the intellectual undermining of women: the lack of interest in what they think, say, make or try to achieve.

The spoken language is English, additionally there are both English and Dutch subtitles.


Over the speakers, you hear the voices of twenty women. They analyse the intellectual undermining, starting from their personal and professional experiences with sexism on the mind and soul. How does this influence your sense of self, your trust, the building of relationships, and eventually: the course of life?

The audience completes the investigation, when the musicians start interviewing them on the topics at hand. These interactions are carried by a new technique of improvising, in which the musicians support risky and honest conversations as they unfold.

Each performance of FOR REAL will be recorded* and released as a podcast-episode. By doing this, we create a sounding collection of your voices on what it means to matter: to have dignity, to feel understood and to be taken seriously.
