The Non-Dutchie Series is our handpicked selection of performances for which you do not need to understand Dutch. Discover a curated selection of ‘No Dutch Required’ theatre with performances by a variety of national and international artists, in our venues the Koninklijke Schouwburg, Theater aan het Spui and Zaal 3 – all for a discounted price!

How does it work?

All the performances are either English spoken, have English surtitles or contain no spoken text at all.

You see the shows together with a group of fellow Non-Dutchies, who you'll get to meet before or after the show. Occasionally the actors, director or other artists will join us for this too, for an introduction or aftertalk!

In this Series you will be communicated with in English.

Whispered Dreams began as a series of letters and texts exchanged between Mona (a writer and actress based in Tehran) and Fariborz. They are close friends and members of the same collective that has been active in Tehran since 2011. Starting from these texts, they are revisiting their connection, friendship, and artistic collaboration, considering gender and lived experiences—Fariborz’ in Amsterdam and Mona's in Tehran.
