At a time when the purpose of humanity is being called into question, a mother advocates for a world without ego. Her son stubbornly clings to a world with ego.

In the compelling performance BEGIN AGAIN, award-winning interdisciplinary art collective BrotherTill and writer Lisa Weeda once again explore the boundaries of theatre. BEGIN AGAIN revolves around a single existential conviction: we must let go of something essential in order to move forward. Can we place the ecological perspective above ourselves?

The mother, a famous activist, tries to persuade her son, a quiet sculptor, to help her fulfil her mission. He stubbornly clings to his view of humanity.

Upon entering, everyone is given a stone. What follows is a dazzling farewell: a mix of hyper-technology, compelling music and an intensely human experience. The audience finds itself at the heart of the story. The auditorium buzzes. The stones sing: free us, the end of humanity must begin.

Prijswinnend kunstenaarscollectief BrotherTill en schrijver Lisa Weeda maken sinds 2020 samen compromisloos theatrale concepten en vertellingen die schuren, verleiden en ontregelen. Vanuit nieuwe teksten, technologie en immersieve werelden dagen ze hun publiek uit om anders naar zichzelf en de werkelijkheid te kijken.

Lisa’s werk wortelt in taal, herinnering en Oekraïne; BrotherTill bouwt explosieve multimediale ervaringen op het snijvlak van installatie en performancekunst.

Samen creëren ze speculatief en confronterend theater dat voorbij de rede durft te gaan en de fantasie opnieuw aanzet.
