In The Monster Trilogy, Michael Matthews took three iconic 19th-century gothic figures as his starting point. He gave each one their own part of the trilogy and blew them up into modern myths, such as a lonely monster longing for love, and a pizza delivery boy infected with AIDS in Dracula's castle.
