In the book, protagonist John-Calum returns to the remote farm where he grew up. There, he finds his father, grandmother, and the close-knit community, where faith and tradition remain central, have barely changed, while he himself has taken a different path. Against the backdrop of the farming season, tensions within the family continue to build.
The novel explores themes of family, heritage, and the question of how much room a person has to build a life of their own.
