In Woyzeck: In de TBS, professional actors, forensic psychiatric patients and staff together explore Georg Büchner's world-famous, unfinished play. A soldier slowly losing his grip on reality. An affair. A knife. A murder. Woyzeck is one of the first texts in world literature to portray a crime committed without criminal responsibility, showing that a perpetrator can also be a victim.

Büchner left behind 27 loose scenes that can be performed in any order. In Woyzeck: In de TBS, directed by Casper Vandeputte, the story is created live and can end differently every night. On stage, a group of staff members from the Van der Hoeven Clinic and forensic psychiatric patients perform alongside professional actors. Actors Vincent van der Valk and Marieke Giebels move among them, guiding, playing and interrupting.

What happens in the mind of someone who loses their grip on life and becomes increasingly violent, and what does that do to bystanders and loved ones? If a perpetrator turns out to also be a victim, how far removed are we really from violence ourselves? And why do we keep watching, what fascinates us?

In Woyzeck: In de TBS, we push right up to the edge of madness, the step into violence. Every night ultimately comes down to one question, one that matters for every actor, every forensic psychiatric patient and every visitor: can you become a different person?
