Storytellers and close friends Sahand Sahebdivani and Raphael Rodan join forces once again for their new music theatre production My Brother's Keeper. The theatre makers and storytellers previously collaborated on their successful productions Kingdom of Fire and Clay, My Father Held a Gun (winner of the Amsterdam Fringe Gold Award 2017) and Sons of Abraham.

Sahand and Raphael never shy away from difficult questions in their work, in fact, they place them front and centre. They explore themes of cultural and religious clashes and conflict through family stories and oral traditions.

In their brand-new work My Brother's Keeper, all these themes come together through the primal story about the origin of human violence: the story of Cain and Abel. In a time of growing polarisation and international hostility, Sahand and Raphael return to the core question: why would a brother turn against his own flesh and blood?

Through a combination of storytelling and music theatre, the performers tell and retell the classic biblical story, moving through history, and recognise Cain and Abel in themselves and in each other.

As perspectives shift, the roles keep reversing. Can the story itself be reversed too? Can two strangers find the brother in each other again?
