Your visit with LiveText glasses
With our LiveText glasses we work to make our performances accessible to a wider audience inside the Hague. With real-time subtitles of everything that’s said on stage, any performance becomes accessible for everyone that’s deaf, hard of hearing or unfamiliar with the spoken language. The words of the actors become text through an AI-driven speech recognition service, making it possible to read along live. You can choose from as many as 223 languages. On this page you’ll read more about our LiveText glasses and your visit.
What will a visit with LiveText glasses entail?
When you choose to visit our theatre to try the glasses, we’ll give you an explanation regarding the settings of the LiveText glasses. For example, you can choose where you place the subtitles and in which languages you want to read. During the performance every unique character has their own name making it easier to follow whose speaking. The video below is a short impression of what you’ll see through the glasses.
Which performances can I visit?
Below you can find every performance where we offer the option to test the glasses. We are actively working to add more performances, with the final goal being able to offer this at every location and every performance.

Make sure to reserve the glasses!
If you want to give the LiveText glasses a try, you can contact us at livetext@hnt.nl
Please let us know which performance you would prefer. We also would like to know what the reason is for testing the glasses and if there are any preferences we can take into consideration. On the day of your visit there will be a comprehensive explanation, and we'll test the glasses together before the performance starts. Please make sure to be present at least 45 minutes before the performance starts.
