In a remote desert town, a young woman, her brother and their mother struggle daily to stay afloat. Their mother is ill, the bills keep piling up, and debt collectors are stripping them of what little they have left. They sink deeper and deeper into a spiral of poverty and hopelessness. In their desperation, they decide to rob a gas station. What starts as a small grab from the till quickly spirals into a chain reaction of absurd situations.

In the middle of this chaos, our heroes come face to face with a corrupt sheriff, who seems mostly interested in her own gain. As the situation escalates into a whirlwind of guns and betrayal, they discover that even the most hopeless situation can take an unexpected turn.

And then there's a mysterious cowboy with a guitar, singing the events into one another.

After the success of Knock-Out (2021), Jakop Ahlbom Company, ISH Dance Collective and DeLaMar Theater once again join forces for an explosive collaboration. Get ready for a visually spectacular action comedy full of music, slapstick and special effects. For A Fine Mess, Jakop Ahlbom and Marco Gerris draw on films by Tarantino, the Coen Brothers, and iconic 1980s action films such as Lethal Weapon and Die Hard.
