Na Sophocles en Shakespeare brengt Studio_Antigone_ ook een toneelstuk van de derde van de grote drie van de theatrale wereldliteratuur; Ivanov van Anton Tsjechov.

Zoals in al zijn stukken toont Tsjechov met Ivanov het leven van de gegoede burgerij in verval. Diep tragisch en ontroerend, maar tegelijkertijd zeer komisch. Een spannend verhaal over onvervuld verlangen naar liefde.

Studio_Antigone_ stelt, als altijd, de taal centraal. De voorstelling zal Tsjechov’s beeld van een lethargische adel in verval verbinden met onze huidige maatschappij, waarin de zogenaamde middenklasse alleen in beweging komt wanneer hun materiële levensstijl bedreigd wordt.
