In een wereld waarin schoonheid en perfecte plaatjes het beeld van de werkelijkheid vervagen, trekt Speels Collectief het ideaalbeeld van haar sokkel. In Usually I'm on Top worden heersende normen van vrouwelijkheid en seksualiteit bevraagd.

Kwetsbaar en grotesk, in woord en lijf, nemen zeven vrouwen je mee in hun ervaringen en verlangens. In een zoektocht naar een nieuwe moraal (of nee… de absolute verwerping ervan) komen we uit bij ‘what she really really wants’.

Je kunt tickets kopen voor drie tarieven: het reguliere tarief, een kortingstarief voor bezoekers met minder middelen en een support tarief wanneer je iets extra's kwijt kunt en het festival wilt steunen.

Toegankelijkheid

De voorstelling is in het Nederlands met Engelse boventiteling. De voorstelling wordt toegankelijk gemaakt voor doven en slechthorenden met een tolk Nederlandse Gebarentaal. Voor blinden en slechtzienden is er vooraf een speciale inleiding waar ingegaan wordt op de visuele aspecten van de voorstelling zoals de kostuums, decors scènewisselingen en waar de acteurs zich komen voorstellen zodat je weet welke stem bij welke rol hoort. Tijdens de voorstelling verzorgt een blindentolk live audiodescriptie.

Algemene informatie over de toegankelijkheid van de locatie

Deze voorstelling speelt in Theater aan het Spui. Op deze locatie is een rustruimte aanwezig (niet rolstoeltoegankelijk). Er is een aangepast toilet in de publieksruimte/foyer. Het gebouw is rolstoeltoegankelijk. Er is een voorbereidingsdocument beschikbaar, zodat je een indruk krijgt van het gebouw en de verschillende ruimtes. Hierop staan de Prikkelrijke plekken duidelijk aangegeven.

In a world where beauty and perfect pictures blur the image of reality, Speels Collectief pulls the ideal image from its pedestal. In Usually I’m on Top, prevailing norms of femininity and sexuality are questioned.


Vulnerable and grotesque, in words and bodies, seven women take you into their experiences and desires. In a search for a new morality (or rather, the absolute rejection of it) we arrive at ‘what she really really wants’.

You can buy tickets for three different price ranges: the Regular price, Discount for visitors with less means and Support in case you have some extra to spare and want to support the festival.

Accessibility

The performance is in Dutch with English surtitles. The performance will be made accessible for the deaf and hearing impaired with a Dutch Sign Language Interpreter. For the blind and visually impaired, there will be a special introduction in advance that discusses the visual aspects of the performance such as the costume, set, scene changes and where the actors introduce themselves so that you know which voice belongs to which role. During the performance, a blind interpreter provides live audio description.

General information about the accessibility of the location

This performance is performed in Theater aan het Spui. There is a rest area at this location but unfortunately it is not wheelchair accessible.

Theater aan het Spui is fully accessible by Wheelchair and there is an accessible toilet available. We have prepared a preparation document so that you can get familiar with the building, the facilities available and the different rooms. The stimulating places are clearly indicated in this document.
