As one of the only fully English-language theatre in the Netherlands, STET hopes to inspire Dutch practice and performers, companies and Drama Schools into adopting more pro-active policies to include artistic work of performers of all abilities. Therefore we have organised our STET NO LIMITS – A Call to Action Series, with first up: a symposium. What is the current state of inclusivity in Dutch theatres when it comes to artists and audience members with disabilities? And what can we learn from the UK?
With a panel of Dutch and British perfomers, policy makers and experts, we discuss the current state of the industry. With in depth discussions on intersectionality, education and how British policies may inspire us to normalize accessibility for all performers and audiences in our theatres.
Moderator: Funda Müjde (NL), Keynote speaker: Robert Softly-Gale (UK, Birds of Paradise), Panel:
Athena Stevens (UK, Shakespeare’s Globe), Paloma Oakenfold (UK, Barefaced Theatre Company), Miss Jacqui (UK, Spokenword performer), Paul Rötger (NL, Theater Babel), Willemijn Haasken (NL, HNTOnbeperkt), Vincent Bendervoet (NL, Bender & Heijst), Carolien van Heijst (NL, Bender & Heijst), Jonny Cotsen (UK, performer Louder is Not Always Clearer)
